We commonly assume that diabetes affects adults and not children. But, what might surprise you is that, the incidence of diabetes amongst children is also escalating day by day. Until recently, the common type of diabetes in children was type-1 diabetes (accounting for 5-10 % of people with diabetes). This number is expected to double between 2005 and 2020. Also, type-2 diabetes is also increasing exponentially amongst children and teenagers.
